Owned by the National Trust, this is a splendid 18th century house. The splendid garden has an ornamental Japenese pond, a topiary yew pavilion and has the national collection of day lilies.


Cothele

Owned by the National Trust, this is a magnificent manor house. The rooms have period furniture and tapestries and the King Charles room has a bed 7 feet 6 inches long. The large gardens are set in a sheltered valley with ponds, a stream and a pleasant woodland walk.

Glendurgan

Owned by the National Trust this exotic garden is set in a valley alongside the beautiful Helford river, and contains mature conifers, camellias, rhododendrons and exotic vegetation. There are walled and water gardens, and the famous laurel maze of 1833 and the Giant's Stride are popular with children.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

The award winning Lost Gardens, asleep for more than 70 years, are now the largest garden restoration project in Europe. Comprising a whole series of gardens within a garden; Ravine Fernery, Italian Garden, New Zealand and Grotto, Northern Summerhouse Garden and Sundial Garden. There are also two acres of Kitchen Garden and a superb collection of walled gardens. The 'Jungle' and 'Lost Valley' lie within a sub-tropical valley overlooking the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey.

Lanydrock

Owned by the National Trust, Lanhydrock is one of the grandest houses in Cornwall, and is superbly set in 450 acres of woods and parkland overlooking the valley of the River Fowey. The house dates back to the 17th century and there are 49 rooms on show to the public. The house is surrounded by beautiful formal Victorian gardens and there is a variety of walks to be taken through the park and woods.

Longcross Victorian Garden

This attractive Victorian garden has interesting granite and water features and a pet's corner where children can have fun feeding the animals. There is a small lake, maze type walkways and panoramic views over Port Isaac.

Mount Edgcumbe House & Country Park

This Country Park, described as 'the most beautiful country park in England' is the earliest landscaped park in Cornwall. There are the formal gardens in English, French, American, New Zealand and Italian styles. The 16th century house is beautifully furnished with valuable paintings, Irish bronze age horns, 16th century tapestries and 18th century Chinese porcelain. The Earl's Garden surrounds the house and is of Victorian style with spectacular views over Plymouth Sound. Also within the Country Park are woodland and coastal walks, interesting buildings scattered about and a deer park.

Pencarrow House and Gardens

An historic Georgian house and listed gardens with a superb collection of pictures, furniture, porcelain and antique dolls. The internationally renowned gardens cover 50 acres and inlude a Victorian rockery, Italian and American gardens, woodland walks a lake and a mile long drive through an ancient iron age fort.

Prideaux Place

This Elizabethan house is one of the finest in Cornwall, and is filled with treasures, fine furniture and the Prideaux Porcelain collection. The house is set in glorious grounds overlooking Padstow and the Camel estuary with a formal Italian garden and a Deer park some 20 acres in size.

Trebah Gardens

This steeply wooded sub-tropical ravine garden of 25 acres falls 200 feet from the 18th century house down to a private beach on the Helford river. There are cascading streams and waterfalls, ponds of giant Koi carp and exotic water plants.

Trelissick Garden

Owned by the National Trust, this tranquil garden and estate is renowned for its glorious position with views down the Carrick Roads to Falmouth and the sea There is an abundance of camelias, rhododendrons, magnolias, hydrangea and a Cornish apple orchard. There are gently sloping walks, sheltered by woodland, sweeping down to the water's edge.

Trengwainton Garden

The large woodland garden is home to magnolias, rhododendrons and azaleas and has a walled garden containing many unusual plants not seen outdoors anywhere else. There is an interesting stream garden and fromthe lawns there are panoramic views over St Michael's Mount.

Trerice

Owned by the National Trust, this is a delightful Elizabethan manor house. Behind the Dutch-style facade are ornate fireplaces, elaborate plaster ceilings and fine English oak and walnut furniture. In the delightful gardens is an orchard planted with old varieties of fruit trees. Trerice also features a museum which traces the history of the lawnmower.
