Barbara Hepworth's stonecarving workshop has been left undisturbed since her death in 1975. Sculptures in wood, stone and bronze are on display.

The sea is the main feature of this museum with items on display from lighthouses and exhibitions on fishing, shipwrecks and the lifeboat. Mining and Agriculture are also featured and there is a collection of wooden dolls made from broken oars.


Bodmin Town Museum

On the site of the old Franciscan friary, exhibits include the original Bodmin fire engine, the town stocks and weights and measures from the old corn market.

Bude & Stratton Museum

Richard Trevithick, the great Cornish engineer is featured here, and his statue adorns the outside of the building. There is an archaeological collection which includes Aztec and Egyptian pieces.

Charlestown Shipwreck & Heritage Centre

The largest exhibition of shipwreck artefacts in the UK, complete with old underground tunnels where you can experience how the clay trucks were taken out to the ships in the harbour. There are also displays on diving, Cornish mining and the new Titanic exhibition.

Cornwall Maritime Museum

Displays focus on Cornwall's illustrious maritime history, with emphasis on shipbuilding and the Post Office Packet Ships. Models of ships, navigation instruments and maritime paintings are also on display.

Fowey Museum

Exhibits include medieval artefacts and models of sailing schooners and displays showing pictorial history of Fowey and it's port.

Helston Folk Museum

Displays focusing on local town life amd the Lizard peninsula. There is also a feature on 19th century Helston man Henry Trengrouse who invented the line-throwing device for rescuing sailors after their ships had run aground.

Jamaica Inn & Museums

Discover the life and works of Daphne du Maurier and enjoy the theatrical presentation of the Jamaica Inn story. You can also see unique memorabilia from the famous taxidermist Walter Potter in Mr. Potter's Museum of Curiosity.

Lostwithiel Museum

The old town jail and corn exchange were once housed here, and the exhibition covers many aspects of this 18th and 19th century past.

Mevagissey Museum

Exhibits cover many aspects of the fishing industry including pilchard presses for extracting fish oil. Cider making is featured with an authentic apple crusher and cider press.

North Cornwall Museum & Gallery

Many displays focus on crafts such as the blacksmith, carpenter, saddler, tanner and cooper. also on display are farming tools, an original cider press and a reconstructed interior of a moorland cottage.

Padstow Museum

Displays cover the Padstow lifeboat, local shipwrecks, the coming of the railway and a local archaeology section. The musuem is also home to the famous blue 'Oss which is used during the 'Obby 'Oss festival on May 1st to celebrate the coming of summer.
